Victorian terrace house

Location: Chelsea, London
Interior Designer: Idese Interior Designs Ltd
Project type: Private residence

"We were initially engaged by our client to design a new layout for their Master Bedroom suite, a home office and bathroom. The client loved our work and asked us to redesign the rest of their home! The brief for the Reception room & Bar were to make them sophisticated areas where they could host guests but it also needed to be welcoming and somewhere they could use as a family to watch big screen entertainment." − Idese Interior Designs Ltd

"We needed to house a large retractable projector screen onto the chimney breast of the formal reception area of the room. We did not want the technology to retract from the elegance of the space so we created a boxing in which to house the screen but needed this to recede as much as possible. We opted for the beautiful Omexco Bijou wallpaper to cover the whole chimney breast and boxing as the metallic detail worked harmoniously with the impactful decorative brass doors that sit on either side of the chimney breast."

"I feel very passionate about using my design skills and experience to lead and support clients through the design process. I love helping them to think broadly about what they want to achieve with regard to the spaces we are designing. To think about their lifestyles, needs and personal style and to then take this input to develop interiors that are not only practical and comfortable but are also exquisitely beautiful and a reflection of our client’s style." − Idese Interior Designs Ltd

"I always approach design from a practical perspective, whether it is designing a single item of furniture or a room the first question is what is the reason? What function is the item or room to fulfill and how is this to enhance the lifestyle of our client. From there I also consider the contextual elements such as the architectural style, the light, movement through the space and surrounding materials and of course the clients personal tastes and style. I then research various material options and then build on the various layers, textures and forms."
