During the Maison&Objet exhibition, which ran from 18 to 22 January, and during the Déco Off presentations in Paris, designers and brands celebrated natural materials. The world of plants, minerals and water were showcased in a number of collections. In terms of colour, we were happy to find lush accents to complement the neutral tones that still form the basis of interior design. The tone was set in the trends area, orchestrated by Elisabeth Leriche, trend hunter, director of the eponymous style agency and a member of the Observatoire de la Maison for Maison&Objet Paris, with an abundance of shimmering patterns and colours, plant motifs and geometric rhythms, supple, undulating shapes and creations in which ceramics, braids and hand-weaving recall the beauty of handicrafts.

At Omexco 3 new collections: Intuition, which combines the textures of abaca, ramie, raffia and braided p ndan in a play of wefts and stripes. Archipelago takes us back to the worlds of the sea, the lustre of shells, the natural brilliance of mica and the richness of capiz. Finally, Rivage, designed in collaboration with Miami-based Studio Dado, evokes water and land in a playful interplay of patterns. Its virtuous manufacturing process and enhanced durability make it a “High Performance” upholstery.
